Lesson Objectives:

After this unit, you will be able to:

Describe the properties of permanent magnets
Describe the difference between the axis poles of the earth and the magnetic poles of the earth
Describe the operation of electromagnets
Determine the polarity of an electromagnet when the direction of the current is known
Describe the different systems used to measure magnetism
Define terms used to describe magnetism and magnetic quantities

Student Activity:

Read carefully pages 66 through 84 of Delmar's Standard Textbook of Electricity making notes as you go.
When you have completed the unit, use your notes to answer the questions in the Lesson Four quiz.
Review your notes and the Lesson highlights as needed, until you are able to attain a perfect score on the quiz.
