Combination Circuits

Lesson Objectives:

Upon completion of this unit, you will be able to:

Define a combination circuit
List the rules for parallel circuits
List the rules for series circuits
Solve combination circuits using the rules for parallel circuits, the rules for series circuits, and Ohm's law
State Kirchoff's voltage and current laws
Solve problems using Kirchoff's law
Describe Thevenin's theorem
Find the Thevenin equivalent voltage and resistance values for a circuit network
Describe Norton's theorem
Find the Norton equivalent current and resistance values for a circuit network
Solve circuits using the superposition theorem

Student Activity:

Read carefully pages 164 through 185b of Delmar's Standard Textbook of Electricity making notes as you go.
When you have completed the unit, use your notes to answer the questions in the Lesson Eight quiz.
